Télécom ParisTech invites applications for a tenured associate professor position in Computer Science focusing on Data Management and Mining.

Télécom ParisTech is one of the leading engineering schools in France. It is an “École d'ingénieur”, which means that it is a higher education establishment outside the main framework of the French university system. Different from the universities in France, the “Écoles d'ingénieur” select their students through competitive oral and written exams. Students join the school usually after 2 years of dedicated preparatory classes. Télécom ParisTech is a member of the Paris-Saclay research cluster, which bundles 18 universities, écoles d'ingénieur, and research institutions in the larger Paris area.

Télécom ParisTech has 170 researchers, professors, and associate professors, and teaches about 1000 students and 300 doctoral students.


The position is offered in the DBWeb team of the Computer Science Department of Télécom ParisTech. The team comprises currently 7 permanent members, as well as 18 postdocs and doctoral students. The team works on Ontologies and Knowledge Management, Large Scale Data Mining, the Social Web, and Language and relevance.


The position is a tenured associate professor position (“Maître de conférences”). If accepted, the candidate is expected to contribute to the teaching and research activity of the DBWeb team.

Applications with a strong technical and theoretical background on complex and/or massive data management and mining are particularly desired. Applicants are expected to be dynamic scientists, with high scientific and pedagogical skills and a strong desire to teach.
